Danielle Prowse
I’m Danielle Prowse, a Perth native and experienced social media, content, and digital marketing freelancer with a passion for storytelling. My career began behind the camera, travelling across Western Australia to capture its landscapes, people, and culture, an experience that gave me a deep understanding of how to translate local identity into powerful visual stories.
My work has since taken me far beyond WA. I’ve lived and worked in Marseille, Tokyo, Tasmania and Melbourne, and travelled widely around Australia, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. Wherever I’ve gone, my camera and creativity have followed — from photographing festivals in Perth and sunrises in San Francisco to capturing street life in Tokyo and mosaics in Morocco.
Today, I specialise in social media strategy, content creation, and digital marketing for organisations and businesses in the arts, travel, hospitality, and lifestyle sectors. With a strong foundation in photojournalism and over a decade of professional social media experience, I’ve implemented successful campaigns that grow audiences, boost engagement, and deliver measurable results.
I now work as a freelance content creator and digital marketing consultant, partnering with businesses, destinations, and cultural organisations to develop strategies that connect with audiences and bring stories to life.
The Story Behind Desert Sea
Desert Sea takes its name from the stunning landscapes of Western Australia, where two powerful forces of nature meet. The vast, sunburnt desert and the endless Indian Ocean.
Growing up in WA, I was surrounded by contrasts: red dirt and turquoise waters, rugged coastlines and sweeping inland plains. These landscapes shaped not only my sense of place but also the creative vision behind Desert Sea.
The name reflects duality – earthy, grounding textures of the desert balanced with the soft, fluid tones of the sea.
